The Mooreland Leader was established in1903 by Omer F. Schnoebelen and has continued in the Schnoebelen family since. Omer F later married and the business was run by Omer F. and Eda until 1946; then it was turned over to Omer N. and Marguerite Schnoebelen. They remained in the business until 1972 when Tim and Karen Schnoebelen took over. Jeff and Jennifer Schnoebelen (fourth generation) became part-owners in 1996 and the third and fourth generations remain in the business today (2013). The fifth generation of Schnoebelens are currently learning the newspaper business. Tim and two other publishers organized CSC Inc in 1987 and formed a central printing plant in Mooreland. Two other papers, Northwest Oklahoman at Shattuck and Woods County Enterprise in Waynoka, have since joined CSC. Waynoka publisher Mark Carson and his wife, Karen, are currently part-owners of the corporation. The Leader building which has been located at 202 North Main in Mooreland since 1906 currently prints twelve weekly newspapers. The Leader also does job printing of all kinds and is equipped to take on almost any printing need.
